1. "Drácula, el origen" de J. D. Barker y Dacre Stoker
Drácula: el origen, nos narra la historia del famoso autor de la reconocida obra: Drácula. Esta historia está basada en las anotaciones y escritos del mismo Bram Stoker, aporte que sus familiares brindaron para crear este maravilloso e intrigante libro.
Bram fue un niño débil y bastante enfermizo, cuidado por su nana, Ellen Crone. Cosas raras y misteriosas rodeaban a esta mujer; entre ellas: fue imposible llegar a retratarla, en algunas ocasiones se le veía bastante envejecida y al cabo de unos días, aparecía radiante y joven otra vez, con una belleza singular y sus ojos cambiaban de color a diario. Cuando Bram tenía 7 años, pasó una noche terrible junto a su nana, este se recuperó milagrosamente y Ellen no volvió a aparecer más. Con el paso de los años, los personajes de la historia comenzaron a investigar, buscar respuestas y sobre todo… Saber qué pasó con Ellen Crone, esa mujer tan extraña.

3. El extraño caso del Dr. Jekyll y el Sr. Hyde - Robert Louis Stevenson
Una de las joyas clásicas de la literatura de thriller y horror. Es uno de esos libros que les recomendamos ampliamente, y que podrán terminar en menos de 3 días.
Robert Stevenson nos cuenta la historia del distinguido Dr. Jekyll, y sobre la relación tan extraña que mantiene con el tétrico y despiadado Sr. Hyde.
¿A qué se deberá ese lazo tan estrecho entre los dos protagonistas de esta novela?

¡Hicimos trampa! Quisimos escoger una de sus tantas novelas, pero no pudimos. Todas son excelentes, así que te mencionaremos unos cuantos libros sobre este detective tan excéntrico y singular.

Este post no podría estar completo sin los cuentos de uno de los más grandes maestros universales de relatos de horror de la historia: Edgar Allan Poe.

Many places in the country have grown famous by focusing on specific crafts, from exquisite kimonos to perfectly designed knives. Among them is the small city of Sabae, in Fukui prefecture, about a 3.5-hour train ride from Tokyo.

It’s widely known as Japan’s eyeglasses capital – and for good reason. Sabae produces over 90% of the frames manufactured in the country, according to the local government. Signs and objects shaped like eyeglasses can be found on city streets, and there’s even a museum and festival devoted to spectacles.
The art of making spectacles
Sabae, located on Japan’s main Honshu island near the city of Fukui, has been producing quality eyewear for more than a century.
It all started in 1905, when a local government official invited skilled eyeglasses artisans to come to the city to teach their craft, an attempt to create new opportunities for local farmers.
The move paid off. Today, Sabae has over 100 companies that collaborate to make pairs of glasses.
Though these studios use cutting-edge machinery to produce new frames made of metal and acetate, most stages still require the skilled hands and trained eyes of Sabae’s master artisans.
That includes Takeshi Yamae, a frame designer with Japanese brand Boston Club who has lived in the city for 17 years. He tells CNN one pair of glasses can involve more than 200 steps.
“I first design it, sketch it, then put it into my computer,” he says. “From the time I start designing, to the time I have the perfect product, it takes more than a year.”
